Shifting between play and storytelling, Il mattino ha l‘oro in bocca offers all participants the opportunity for a journey into creativity by proposing inspirational examples and concrete tools to work with, from the concept of an interactive story to the tools to make it happen.
The sessions are accompanied by materials for further reasoning and creation: from the periodic table of narrative elements to tarot cards as combinatorial cues, from the scheme for outlining the shape of stories proposed by Kurt Vonnegut to models of choice-based games.
After reviewing the types of narrative video games in the first session, in the second we consider the methods for getting good ideas, in the third we take a closer look at how to structure non-linear stories, and in the fourth we explain how to create them with the Twine tool.
There were two editions of the course via Zoom: the first in the summer of 2020 and the second in the summer of 2021.
