Card game

2020

Colpo di Stato is a card game where the players investigate on the failed coup led by Junio Valerio Borghese in December 1970 in Roma, one of the most disturbing episodes of Italy's history in the second half of the 20th century.

Inspired by the mechanics of escape games, Colpo di Stato aims at closing the historic investigation by piecing together the connections between the key players of the failed coup.

The players – ideally 2 to 6 – collaborate to solve observation, logic and deduction puzzles, following from card to card an accurate reconstruction of the intrigues of Italy’s First Republic, based on a bibliography of more than 15 sources.

The 72 front/back cards are a real playable journalistic investigation, created with the input of two public historians. No prior knowledge of the facts recounted is required to complete the game.

Created through a successful crowdfunding campaign, Colpo di Stato is available in Italian and English editions, also through Amazon.
